On this killer Instagram we feature airline employees and their stunning #TravelGrams. These fellow av-geeks are exploring the globe as non-revvers, living for the road and the experiences they acquire there. Sometimes their interesting points of view can get lost in the shuffle, so we thought we’d bring this last month’s batch to you in a neat, little, inspiring blog package. Read on to meet these non-revvers, see where they’ve been, and see how you can go where they’ve gone, too!
This picture (brought to you by @damirkolakovic) was taken just an hour and a half outside of Salt Lake City, at the Bonneville Salt Flats. This vast dazzling white plain is perfectly flat and looks like a frozen lake bed covered in snow. No vegetation grows in the area, and if you visit after a rainfall the heat waves that rise from the salty soil will fool your eyes into thinking the plain is covered in water. Formed when ancient lake Bonneville dried up, this salty basin can be seen along I-80 (which also conveniently serves as one of the best basin viewpoints). While you’re not allowed to walk or camp on the flats, the Bureau of Land Management highly recommends camping or staying in Wendover (a mere 10 miles west), if Salt Lake City is a bit too far for you! This free nature reserve is a perfect trip for a long overnight in SLC. Check it out!
Once part of Rabot Estate, one of Soufrière’s oldest and most famous cocoa plantations, this luxurious resort stands far out from the rest. Don’t believe us? Just ask pilot @iamshannonhutchinson! The resort takes full advantage of its natural surroundings, with 32 suites offering an “open wall” (giving you a view much like Shannon’s, seen here). Immerse yourself in the island lifestyle at Ladera, which claims it’s a “feast for the senses.” You’ll be drawn in with the food and views, and fall in love with the people and culture. If you’re looking for a luxurious escape on the historical side of the Caribbean, then this experience is the one to copy for you. I mean, look at that private infinity pool. Can you imagine anything more luxurious? We’re definitely so jealous, Shannon!
This is an incredible shot, thanks to @lomcmullan, of the Pittsburgh Union Amtrak Station in Pennsylvania. Although not a city usually high up on travelers lists, Pittsburgh still has much to offer! Explore Mount Washington via the Duquesne Incline, see the Heinz History Center, or enjoy the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. When you’re not getting lost in the exhibits at the Carnegie Science Center or the Andy Warhol Museum get to know the charm of Steel City (and witness its refreshing energy) at one of its many football games or year-round events along one of its three rivers. Perfect for a quick weekend trip with some pals or the kids, you won’t regret visiting the 15th most affordable destination in the USA.
“Hop onboard a wooden rowboat, lay back, and let yourself be carried through a tiny stone portal to another world…” That’s what @mskristravels did! This dark cavern along the coast of Capri Island, Italy is quite the sight to behold. A quick google of the ancient Neapolitan site shows multiple un-retouched images of the sparkling cavern lit by an azure blue light. This famous tour on Capri Island is open each day from 9 AM to 5 PM, of course with favorable sea conditions permitting. A mere 14 euros per person is all it takes to enjoy the natural sea cave, that and a non-revved flight to Italy! A must-see if you’re visiting this corner of Europe any time soon! Definitely not the only thing to see on this beautiful island, but for sure one of many to enjoy!
Are you jealous yet? We sure are! Make sure to keep an eye on our Instagram to see where other fellow non-revvers are traveling, or tag us to share where your travels have lead. By tagging us in your images you’re getting the chance to be featured there, on our Facebook, or here on Interliner in the future. We hope this article has inspired you to book another adventurous non-rev trip here soon! Until next time, safe travels and keep your eyes on the skies!
