Hello friends! ID90 Travel here with a profile feature on one of our favorite team members, Lulu, Call Center Coordinator and Client Management. If you’ve stumbled upon this blog for the first time, allow us to introduce ourselves. We’re ID90 Travel, the company that gives airline employees un-real exclusive deals on hotels, rental cars, cruises, and all-inclusive resorts.
We’ve done a few of these profiles already (featuring team members like Emily, Carter, Debbie, David B, and Esteban), but this time we’re excited to introduce you to another member from our Argentina office! Her name is Lulu, and we think you’ll enjoy getting to know this beach-lovin’, insightful mama bear.
Guadalupe (Lulu) & “Mama Bear”
Call Center Coordinator and Client Management
You’re given an unlimited budget & unlimited time, where do you travel?
I would travel all over the world to discover all the different cultures and meet beautiful people. But the country I would have to go back to (the one that has my heart) is New Zealand. The northern New Zealand culture is so relaxed, you could spend most of your time shoeless!
Where did you grow up, or what city influenced you the most?
I grew up in Vicuña Mackenna, it’s a small town south of Cordoba. But I’m more of a country girl than a city girl! Before my family moved to Vicuña Mackenna we lived on a farm where we had little creatures (ducks and bunnies) and horses and I loved it.
What motivates you to do what you do?
I’m really driven by results, like when I have a concrete goal to meet. I also really value having enough time to figure out a strong strategy to accomplish my goals. Learning new things has also always been a motivator for me.
What is one thing you love to do but haven’t had the time recently?
I love the sea and I love to go scuba diving. I’ve done it lots of times before, in fact I’m certified! But I don’t know how I feel about shark diving. When you scuba it’s like you’re on an entirely different planet, so you have to be open to the animals that swim by. But that doesn’t make me any less scared of the sharks. One time when I was scubaing with my boyfriend a small shark swam by, and I was like “No mamí!” and closed my eyes. Maybe I’ll warm to it eventually!
What’s the last song you listened to and show you watched?
Last Song: Starboy by The Weekend
Last Show: Project Runway, but honestly I don’t have a lot of time for TV.
If you could trade lives with someone, who would it be?
Dr. Strange. Who wouldn’t want the powers or control he has?
What’s your go-to traveling hack/tip?
I always pack light so that I have plenty of space left in my bag for all the shopping I plan on doing on my trip.
What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on?
So far, New Zealand. But another one of my favorite trips was the one I took to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I was there as a student working abroad, and worked at a hotel. What I loved most about that place, besides the mountains, was the fact that it was my first independent trip. Everyone should do that once in their lifetime! I learned so much, including English.
What is your most bizarre talent?
I can read the future… just kidding! I’m really good at noticing things, I’m a “noticer.” Like I can always remember where things were or where they were placed. That translates really well into my work place, as you can imagine. I notice when there’s an issue pretty quickly!
Tell us three things about yourself & make one a lie.
I’m a twin. I love to cook and am a multitasking mother. I’m a Belieber.
What’s your favorite kind of vacation?
I love any kind of vacation that involves a beach. I could lay on it all day long!
What’s your “travel style?”
Is flip-flop beach bum an option? If so then I’d be that. Give me some sand and sun on my skin, I’ll be there!
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Strong, Independent, Crazy-Mom
