We’re pretty proud of our team here at ID90 travel, and that’s part of the reason why we’ve introduced them to you! They’re a hardworking, airline-passionate group of individuals with some seriously interesting backstories. Today we’re going to introduce you to yet another #ID90TravelTeammate and her name is Christine. She’s the big boss on campus when it comes to the cold-hard-cash, and rightly so! Although she be but small, she is mighty. Read on to get to know this interesting gal and our ID90 Travel Controller.
Christine & “Shorty McShorty”
ID90 Travel Controller – I close the books and account for all of the money in the company, you know – where it comes from and where it goes!
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a small town (population 3,500!) in Kansas, so basically in the middle of nowhere!
Imagine you’re given an unlimited budget and unlimited time, where would you travel?
Hmmm, that is a tough one. I love to travel, but I would probably travel internationally since I haven’t had the opportunity to do much of that yet! I’d start with Fiji and stay in one of the huts on the water, although if I do that first I may not go anywhere else. I’m such a sucker for the outdoors (my family went to Machu Picchu recently) and I’m all for being active outside, but I think it’s good to balance with some solid beach time as well. So besides Fiji maybe I’ll balance it out with a trip back to Yellowstone!
What is the last thing you watched on TV?
The last series I watched on Netflix was Ozark, and it was an amazing show! If you liked Breaking Bad then Ozark needs to be next on your list. I think next I want to watch Bloodline. I don’t watch a lot of TV because when I do I have to finish the series, and who wants to spend their entire life watching TV?
Who inspires you? Where do draw your motivation from?
My dad for sure. He was an amazing and hardworking man that was full of wisdom. I would also say, my kids!
Is there something you’ve always wanted to do, but have never had the chance to?
I’ve heard that it’s pretty cool to do an early morning bike trip down the volcano in Maui! Like I said, I love being outdoors and pushing myself. On my family’s trip to Machu Picchu, we did the proper hike. No cheating on the bus for us, and it was totally worth it. Of course, it was demanding and challenging, but it made the trip that much more incredible and worthwhile!
What is your go-to traveling hack or tip?
I would have to say to always have a sweatshirt and cleans socks with you while traveling. That way you can be warm on those bound-to-be-cold airplanes, and you have something to protect you from the not-so-sanitary hotel carpets. *shudder*
Tell us three things about yourself & make one a lie.
I’ve run 10 half marathons. My great, great uncle was Aaron Burr. I am a black belt in Karate.
What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on?
That’s a tough one, I have been fortunate to have had some great vacations! I would have to say my two favorites have been going to Yellowstone National Park and hiking to Machu Picchu in Peru. Yellowstone was so beautiful and fun because my kids were young and they loved it. Like I said above, Machu Picchu wasn’t an easy trip, but it was so worth it.
What’s your favorite kind of vacation?
My immediate response would be that a beach and mountain vacation are tied, followed closely by vacationing in a big city, but the only really big city I’ve been to is NYC! There are plenty of international big cities that I think I would enjoy visiting. So obviously Europe is on the list. Beaches are great but then you’ve got places like Paris and Rome.
What’s your “travel style?”
Definitely casual, maybe not quite to “beach bum” status, but casual and comfortable. I like to be prepared so that I get the full experience of wherever I am going, but I also like to leave a little room for spontaneity.
What’s your most bizarre talent?
I’m an incredible multi-tasker and I can find just about anything in my house! It might be that mom thing, but when my family can’t find something (even when it’s sitting right in front of them) I usually can.
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Loyal, hard-working, multi-tasker!
