I’m sure you read that title and thought that we’d be spilling a whole bunch of truly juicy airline employee gossip. Well, we aren’t. Sucker. Got you with our click bait! What we will be spilling, though, is a whole bunch of lovely stories that members of the airline community shared with us. As airline employees y’all get to be with people at their worst and at their best, which means along the way you get to collect some truly touching experiences.
We reached out to the community and asked for those sweet stories, and this is what we got in return. Whether it was rewarding to help or be helped… to smile or share a tear, these employees experienced it all. There are even a few airline shout outs in there! So sit back, relax, and allow us to remind you why you work in one of the best industries in the world. It’s spring, after all, so let’s cultivate some positive vibes.
On our AA flight from Charlotte to Dallas, the flight attendants went above and beyond to treat us non-revs as well as their revenue passengers. Thank you!
I love it when I can go above and beyond for a customer and make them smile by getting them to a flight they thought they’d miss due to unforeseen circumstances.

The excitement of small children whenever they’re flying for the first time.
I once got to meet a PAX that recently started a new business and released a new app. He was really interesting and now I get to watch his business take off!
Whenever I get to fly Southwest Airlines. They’ve got great customer service, our bags fly free, and there’s plenty of humor to go around.
I helped this elderly customer once, and the whole time she thought I was her neighbor (who was actually sending her to the airport) while I was helping her plan her flight.
I love whenever I get to hear about the weather in different cities. I work in a single climate area, and it’s fun to hear about all the other climate changes!
I enjoy getting to surprise the flight crew with a little bag of goodies when I fly. That smile is worth a thousand words!
Getting to know the passengers is so fun! One invited me to their winery.
Being able to bring a passenger back from the edge of death with the use of CPR and an AED. Thank you training!
I was on one of the first flights to Cuba, and many of the customers were going to see their family members for the first time in years. There was a lot of emotion and anticipation amongst them. As each of them shared their stories I was able to connect them to one another, and the whole plane was eventually filled with the hum of stories and tears being shared between total strangers that became friends. It was a great blessing to be a part of their lives and the intimate memories and dreams of visiting their families – even those that are now in cemeteries – again.
When I got to listen to a younger couple (with young children) tell me all about their trip to Disney.
Being given first class seats and a temporary United Club pass on my way to Europe with my sister. What a wonderful beginning to our trip!
